The West Tampa Tobacco Red Robusto is one of the three cigars of the Red line, released on the market in the middle of 2023, of the brand owned by Rick Rodriguez (for more information on the brand click here).

The Red line is characterized by a San Andres Maduro wrapper, a binder cultivated in Condega, and a filling of Nicaraguan leaves (Condega viso, Estelì viso, Estelì ligero). They are produced at the Garmedia Cigar Company, a factory based in Estelì. All the cigars are sold in 20-ct boxes.

West Tampa Red Robusto 2

West Tampa Red Robusto: hints of ripe fruit of good intensity are perceptible in the cold draw, enriched with spicy and woody shades.

West Tampa Red Robusto 3

Once lit, the smoke is defined by well-marked wood and earth notes, followed by mineral nuances. The strength is medium (3/5).

In the central section, the aromas of wood and earth remain unchanged, while a well-defined component of nuts takes over from the initial mineral scent. The strength increases, becoming medium-full (4/5).

In the last third, a pleasant, bitter note appears that increases more and more towards the end. Earth and wood remain to be the dominant flavors, next to the mineral and nuts. The strength increased slightly (4.5/5).

Overall, the West Tampa Red Robusto offers a decisive and powerful smoke, condensed in a Robusto size. The aromas are very intense and supported by a marked strength which manages not to cover them.
