Villa Casdagli Corona Gorda 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The Villa Casdagli line pays homage to the home of Emmanuel Casdagli, located in Cairo, Egypt. The Villa inspired all the designs, and Emmanuel Casdagli began the family’s cotton business in the 19th century.

The line is made at the Tabacos de Costa Rica S.A. (formerly known as Vegas Santiago).

Villa Casdagli Corona Gorda

Villa Casdagli Corona Gorda: the cold draw reveals vegetal aromas, nuts, and some spice. Once lit, the cigar immediately opens with a mix of nuts, leather, and light spicy notes.

Further into the first third, the nuts, mainly hazelnut and leather notes, are joined by coffee and vegetal aromas, with white pepper in the background. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the second half, the leather has disappeared, and a herbal freshness now joins the hazelnut and coffee notes. A cinnamon spice appears next to the white pepper note as well. Strength is close to medium-bodied (2.5/5).

A subtle sweetness appears in the last third. The hazelnut and herbal notes, mainly menthol, are the prominent flavors upfront, followed by coffee and cinnamon. Strength reaches a medium level (3/5)

Overall the Villa Casdagli Corona Gorda is a balanced and complex smoke. The profile is structured, intense, and the flavors are well intertwined with each other—an interesting smoke with a strength level that never overpowers the flavors.
