Trinidad La Trova

Trinidad La Trova: the cold draw reveals notes of wood and nuts. Once lit, the La Trova starts out with earth and cedar wood.

Trinidad La Trova

Further into the first third, the flavor profile is enhanced by notes of hazelnut and coffee. There is a slight bitterness present, but nothing bad. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the second third, the earth becomes the main flavor joined now by leather. Wood and hazelnut have moved to the background, but are still well present. A cocoa note comes through from time to time. Strength has increased to a medium level (3/5).

The final third sees the flavor profile increase in intensity. Unfortunatly, with that increases also the bitterness that was always lingering around. Strength remains unchanged.

Overall, the Trinidad La Trova showcases a flavor profile that is true to the brand. While it is balanced and complex in the first two third, things change for the worse in the last third with the bitterness becoming unpleasant. The cigar has potential to improve with some rest in the humidor.
