Trinidad Esmeralda 1600 900 Luca Cominelli

The Trinidad Esmeralda is one of the latest releases under the Trinidad brand, which had two other sizes released at the end of 2019, namely the Media Luna and the Topes. Compared to these other two, the Esmeralda is the one with the largest dimensions and shares a similar generous ring gauge. The cigars are sold in 12-piece Semi boîte nature.

Visually, the cigars come dressed in Colorado-colored wrappers and are silky to the touch. The filling is generous. In some samples, the leaves have spots, which shouldn’t happen in a prestigious brand like Trinidad. As per the tradition of the brand, the head is finished in a pigtail.

Trinidad Esmeralda: unlit, faint hints of cedarwood and a touch of white pepper are perceived. The opening is toasted with mineral nuances.

Trinidad Emeralda

The first third alternates toasted and spicy notes, with white pepper and chili spice. There is a nuance of walnut present in the background, enriched with vegetal aromas. Strength is just above medium (3.5/5).

The second third brings an earthy component to the profile consisting of toasted notes and white pepper. Strength remains constant (3.5/5).

In the final part, toasted and earthy notes alternate. The vegetal component is also perceptible, and in the finale, the walnut comes through again. Strength remains constant

Overall, the Trinidad Esmeralda releases a profile that differs at times from the typical flavor profile of the brand. The cigar is masculine and puts intensity over elegance. That said, the smoke has an excellent balance.
