The Tatuaje RC line was born with Pete Johnson’s intention to pay tribute to the ancient Cuban tradition. Hence the abbreviation “RC”, which stands for Retro Cuban and the desire to bring back the Double Figurado shape, very popular between the 30s and 40s of the last century. Also the presentation, with the silver foil that surrounds half of the body of the cigar, is a call back to the old Cuban productions. Two sizes are in regular production: the RC 233 and the RC 184. The numbers recall the length of the cigars, both, as mentioned, Double Figurados.
The RC line has recently been enriched by other sizes, that are exclusively for the European market (click here for more information, or here for the review of the RC No.1).
Once the foil is removed, the cigar is displayed in all its magnificent opulence. The wrapper is of a Colorado Madura shade. It is silky to the touch, with smalls veins. Filling is uniform and the draw is regular. Magnificent construction and general invoice.

Tatuaje RC 184: powerful notes of earth and cocoa reach the nose, but also delicate peppery nuances.
Overall, this Tatuaje RC 184 is a very interesting product. Certainly it is faithful to the Tatuaje brand, with the classic aromas of earth, wood and spices. The strength never out of proportion to the flavor profile. A wider evolution was expected, which would have given this cigar an extra edge. The only flaw is linked to a sapidity that does not fade throughout the smoke and which, in the long term, tends to dry out the mouth. For the rest, a good cigar with a very pronounced persistence.
