The cigar is wrapped in cedar wood, same as the original Cedros line by Romeo y Julieta. In this case the band does not feature the traditional green and gold colors, but rather red and gold.
Once the cigar is removed from the cedar sleeve, the wrapper appears to be of a Colorado Claro color. It is smooth to the touch. Filling is not homogeneous in all cigars we tested.
Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe LCDH: before lighting the cigar up, earthy hints can be perceived. Opening is sweet, giving off vanilla notes.
The first third opens up with cedar wood and vanilla aromas, on a sweet base. Strength is medium-light (2,5/5).
The second third changes into cedar wood with earthy notes. The background is still sweet, while strength increases to reach a medium body (3/5).
The last third does not feature any major changes, with the minor exception of some floral hints. Strength is constant.
Overall, a very balanced and harmonious cigar. The aromatic palette and evolution are however limited, and a change of pace would have help the cigar during the smoking time.
