Punch ManTua 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

Punch ManTua, a regional edition intended for the Italian market, has been distributed a few days ago. The vitola de galera chosen is Laguito n. 2, sold in 2400 Side Lid Boxes of 50 cigars. Retial price of the cabinet is Euro 600.00.
The name unites Italy and Cuba with a double thread. It is the Latin name of the city of Mantua (located in Italy) but it also identifies a small municipality in the Pinar del Rio area, founded by Italian citizens who landed on the Isla Grande.

Punch Mantua

Once the cabinet is opened, the eye gravitates towards the bands, that are different from the usual ones used by the brand. The background is black and golden, with white writings and graphics. Moving on to the cigar, the wrapper is of a bright Colorado shade. To the touch, it is slightly silky, with somewhat pronounced veins. Excellent construction, although some cigars are not as well packed as others from the same box.

Punch Mantua

Punch ManTua: the cold draw reveals a clear woody note, with nuances of white pepper and earth.

Punch Mantua

The first puff is remarkable. The profile is delicate, played between the sapidity and the acidity. There is also a very light, though fleeting, spicy note. Notes of coffee, wood, walnut and almond appear as well. Strength is medium (3/5).

In the central part, the flavors veer towards light sweet and bitter components. The walnut remains unchanged, while spices and a delicate note of cocoa appear. Strength remains medium (3/5).

In the final third, the flavors are better structured, with a trio of walnut, cocoa and earth. Strength remains constant (3/5).

Ultimately, the Punch ManTua is a product that surprises for its complexity and finess. The balance between the aromas and strength is perfect. The flavor profile is by no means trivial and at times it is also difficult to read, due to how well the flavors are mixed together. Even if it is a cigar ready to be smoked, the light bitterness that appears from the second half suggests a good margin of improvement over time. To buy and keep.
