Partagas Maduro No.1: before lighting the cigar up, cocoa hints can be perceived. Opening is sweet and very creamy. Herbal notes are given off, reaching the palate. The first tercio develop cocoa, aromatic herbs and red pepper notes. Spicy notes can also be identified in the background. Persistency is remarkable, and strength is medium-high (4/5).
The second tercio alternates cocoa, old wood, earth and rich spices. Intensity is bold. Strength increases (4/5), while still being controlled.
The last smoke segment is a triumph of cocoa and spices, moving up to a balanced, satisfying finish. Strength is still not overwhelming.
Globally a very balanced smoke, with a remarkable aromas intensity and long-lasting persistency. The aromas palette is wide and the evolution can be perceived. One of the best new releases introduced by Habanos in the last few years. A Partagas signed masterpiece!
