The Partagas Lusitanias is a cigar that needs no introduction: we are in fact in the presence of a Prominentes, or Double Corona, from one of the most famous Cuban brands of all time.

The wrapper has a Colorado shade and is rough to the touch. It is not uncommon to come across slightly overfilled cigars, with a draw that, as a result, is on the tighter side.
Partagas Lusitanias: the cold draw reveals earthy hints. The opening brings vegetal notes to the palate.
Strength is slightly above medium (3,5/5).
The second third is an array of hot spices, followed by earth and herbs. Strength remains constant (3,5/5).
The final third continues on hot spices. The flavor profile now consists of earth and herbs. Strength grows, taking on a medium-full body (4/5), and closes out the smoke in a satisfying way.
Overall, this Partagas Lusitanias is a balanced smoke with a great aromatic intensity. Evolution is good, as is the flavor profile. Not as strong as pre-2000 Lusitanias, today’s Double Corona gives rise to a smoother and less demanding smoke, than twenty years ago, which now caters to a larger group of smoker. It remains however an iconic cigar, that is able to keep you in good company for 90 minutes.
