Oliva Serie V Double Robusto: noteworthy, but not overwhelming, flavors of coffee, honey and hazelnut.
It starts out sapid. Aromatically, the beginning is dominated by a potent note of earth, followed by hazelnut. Wood and spices can be found in the background. Strength is medium – full (4/5).
The flavor intensity doesn’t let up in the second third. Evolutions is not particularly marked: next to the strong earthy notes, an equally vigorous cocoa flavor, on a spicy background, joins in. Strength stays unchanged on the medium – full level (4/5).
There is a light hint of bitterness in the final third, but it doesn’t unbalances the aromatic palette. The evolution undergoes a slight change: the predominant earth and cocoa flavors are now accompanied by suave hints of spices and walnut. Strength increases, reaching the full canon (5/5).
Overall, the Serie V Double Robusto from Oliva is a cigar that stands out due to its aromatic intensity. Equally high is the balance, the complexity and the harmony. Only the evolution comes a little short, compared to the other rating parameters and rather to vary in the amount of flavors it plays with different intensities of the same aromas throughout the various thirds. A great product, strong in aromas, paired whit a creamy and copious smoke.
