The Montecristo No. 1 is the longest cigar in the series of numbers (which currently consists of five examples, from 1 to 5) and has been produced since before the Castro revolution. In all these decades, it was presented in numerous packaging, including a 100-count Cajon.
It is currently only sold in a 25-unit dress box.
Visually it is dressed in a Colorado wrapper with brown reflections. Sometimes, the wrapper can be as dark as Maduro. To the touch, it is smooth without too-marked veins. The filling is unifrom and, at times, the draw can be slightly tight, but nothing that could compromise the smoking mechanics.

Montecristo No. 1: aromas of spices and wood are perceived in the cold draw, followed by earthy nuances.
In the first third, the smoke is sweet and also delicately sour. Notes of wood, spices, and bread, all equal in intensity, are enriched by earthy nuances. Strength is medium-light (2/5).
In the central section, the cigar becomes sapid. It reveals very marked notes of nuts and wood, followed by less marked aromas of cocoa and mineral nuances. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).
In the final third, the cigar remains sapid and confirms the aromas of nuts and wood, now enriched by an equal earthy note. Strength becomes medium-full (4/5).
Ultimately, the Montecristo No. 1 offers a smoke of great elegance, with refined aromas distributed throughout the entire smoke. The strength is perfectly balanced with the aromas, making it easy to appreciate—class, power, refinement.
