It is not the first time that we hear about it, and the official announcement was released during the interview with the President and Master Blender Mombacho Claudio Sgroi (the full interview is on the spring issue of CigarsLover Magazine). With the image below Mombacho unveils Casa Favilli line on the web.
However, below here there is an image with the cigars dressed up with the Casa Favilli band. The peculiarity of Casa Favilli lies in the blend. To dress up the the Nicaraguan binder and filler, Claudio chose a Broadleaf wrapper. This type of tobacco is very widespread in the production of cigars and is often used just as wrapper, because of its characteristics and the size that this leaf is able to reach. So far nothing new then; despite Broadleaf tobacco is usually grown in Connecticut, the one chosen for the new Mombacho line follows the common line that has always been common to Mombacho cigars: 100% Nicaragua. Hence the Broadleaf used is also cultivated in Nicaragua and all this translates into the first Nicaraguan puro boasting a Broadleaf wrapper grown in Nicaragua!
