Following the introduction of the Macanudo Emissary España last year, which was notable for its use of Spanish tobacco, the latest addition to the line is the Macanudo Emissary France. This new cigar is crafted using French tobacco sourced from the region south of Bordeaux, an area renowned for its wine production.
Matt Wilson, senior brand manager for Macanudo, stated, “After the success of Emissary España, we knew we had high expectations to meet. Choosing France, with its incredible flavors and rich tradition of sophistication, felt like a natural next step. We aimed to capture the richness and refinement that characterize French craftsmanship in creating this cigar.”
Similar to the España line, the Emissary France features a unique blend that includes filler tobacco cultivated in the Mugron River Valley in southwestern France. This varietal is based on a hybrid tobacco developed in Paraguay years ago. The remaining fillers consist of Dominican Piloto, Brazilian Arapiraca, and Connecticut broadleaf. These elements are bound together with a Connecticut broadleaf binder and an Ecuador Habano wrapper, both of which have been aged for 10 years. According to General Cigar Co., these cigars offer a medium-bodied strength profile.
The line is available in four sizes:
- Churchill: 48 x 178mm (7”) – $16.99
- Perfecto: 50 x 146mm (5 ¾”) – $17.99
- Robusto: 52 x 127mm (5″) – $14.99
- Toro: 52 x 152mm (6″) – $15.99
All sizes are produced in Honduras at the HATSA factory and are sold in boxes of 16. The Macanudo Emissary France is currently being shipped to retailers.
