Laura Chavin has announced their new cigars, set to drop this coming June, called “La Ligue des Divins” or short DIVIN. “La Ligue des Divins” (the League of the Divine in English) owes its name to the origin of its tobaccos, which are cultivated at an altitude of up to 800m above sea level.
All the tobacco for the new blend comes from the so-called “Tabakalm,” which is located in the high altitudes of the Cibao Valley. Through impassable terrain and only accessible by horse or mule, you reach these unusual tobacco plantations. Sufficient sun but also clouds that get stuck in the heights of El Cibao ensure a unique and balanced microclimate with the right amount of moisture. Early dew occurs on clear, cold nights, which is particularly important for the growth of tobacco plants. The highly fertile soils usually do without fertilizer. The planting is carefully and cautiously integrated into the natural vegetation, snuggles up, and subordinates itself to the local conditions. In this way, unspoiled nature is preserved.
All the care culminates into the DIVIN blend, and the cigars were rolled back in 2020. For the premiere in June, DIVIN will start in three sizes: Gran Corona, Short Churchill, and Toro. More details and photos of the new Laura Chavin cigars are coming soon.
