This Corona Gorda is of a Maduro shade and the wrapper is rather rough to the touch. Construction is flawless.
La Imperiosa Corona Gorda: the cold draw reveals spicy hints of black pepper. The opening is a full on pepper blast, which doesn’t really come as a surprise since the cigar is made by the Garcias.
The first third alternates flavors of black pepper, earth and leather. In the background a roasted aroma is perceptible as well. A ripe fruity note comes in after a while as well. Strength is medium – full (4/5).
Strength increases slightly (4,5/5).
Roasted notes return in the final third, balancing out the mix of earth, leather and black pepper. The last couple puffs are powerful, both in flavor and strength (5/5).
The finish is incredibly long and a little evolution is perceptible as well. Very satisfying.
