The La Gloria Cubana Turquinos is one of three cigars made by Habanos S.A. and belongs to the brand’s regular production portfolio. The Turquinos, in particular, was the last to be released in chronological order in the first months of 2023 despite having been announced the previous year.
The name is a tribute to Piquo Turquino, the highest mountain on the Cuban island (1974m). It should be noted, however, that in the vitolario of La Gloria Cubana, there was a Turquinos, discontinued in the 1970s, with a very different vitola from today’s (at the time, it was a Short Panetela).
The Turquinos come in a so-called Gordito size and are sold in 10-ct boxes.
The cigar is dressed in a shiny Colorado wrapper with yellow reflections. To the touch, it appears slightly silky with evident and moderately marked veins. The filling and draw are good.

La Gloria Cubana Turquinos: aromas of wood and nuts are perceivable in the cold draw, enriched by earthy nuances.
Overall, the La Gloria Cubana Turquinos is a cigar in line with the brand, well known for having well-defined aromas and a strength that is never over the top. In particular, the Turquinos, although the profile shows the La Gloria Cubana character, is somewhat contained. The aromas are there but not particularly intense, and the evolution never marks an actual gear change.
