Cigar enthusiasts often know very little about the skilled artisans responsible for crafting their favorite smokes. However, Scandinavian Tobacco Group aims to change that with the release of a new, limited-edition La Gloria Cubana cigar. This special release, called La Gloria Cubana Gran Legado, features the signatures of the talented individuals who crafted it, offering consumers a glimpse into the people behind the product.
According to Corey Beardsley, the brand manager of La Gloria Cubana, the release of La Gloria Cubana Gran Legado emphasizes the importance of the artisans who meticulously create each cigar. Produced at El Credito, a section within the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the Dominican Republic, Gran Legado is exclusively crafted by rollers with a minimum of 15 years of experience. The cigar is a double-tapered Perfecto measuring 62 x 184 mm (7 ¼”) and has a suggested retail price of $14.99 each. It is described as a medium- to full-bodied blend, featuring a dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobacco.
The packaging of La Gloria Cubana Gran Legado further celebrates the skilled cigar rollers. Each 10-count box features an inner lid with a photo showcasing the hands of a buncher and a roller crafting a cigar. Only 1,900 boxes of this special release are being made available, distributed through Forged Cigar Co., a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
