Once lit, it is striking that a cigar of this format is sweet, with a less marked sapidity. The flavors that develop in the first third are wood and honey, but also a spicy nuance. Strength is medium – light (2/5).

In the central section, the sweet flavor even with the sapidity. Flavor-wise, the cigar, while retaining the honey note of the previous third, evolves towards notes of walnut and coffee. There is a nuance of leather present in some puffs as well. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).

In the last third, the flavors are expressed on notes of honey, earth, and almond. A hint of walnut makes its way through in the last few puffs. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).

Ultimately, the expectations from the cold draw are positively gratified by this true masterpiece of Cuban production. The H. Upmann Sir Winston strikes for its opulence in flavor, paired with a strength level that is just right. It is a cigar that shows itself to be widely enjoyable already after two years of aging, but which will show all its potential if it is allowed the right rest time in the humidor.
