The H. Upmann Coronas Major is the older brother, as the Latin name suggests, of the Coronas Junior. It was produced before the Castro revolution, although until 2002, there were two cigars with this name in different sizes available. A machine-made Eminentes-mano (44 x 132mm), and a handmade Marevas (42 x 129mm). In 2002 they fused into one size called Eminentes.
It is sold in a metal tube, in a dress box of 25 units.
Visually, the cigar is dressed in a Colorado leaf with brown reflections, although sometimes you can find cigars with lighter wrappers. To the touch, it is somewhat smooth, with some large veins present. The general construction is good.

H. Upmann Coronas Major: very intense aromas of old wood are perceived in the cold draw, followed by less evident earth tones and shades of leather and sandalwood.
Once lit, the smoke is sweet, with very intense notes of wood and walnut enriched by spicy nuances. Strength is medium-light (2/5).
In the central section, the initial sweetness fades a bit. Alongside the prevailing note of walnut, there is a well-defined earthiness and a touch of vanilla present. The smoke is very creamy in the mouth, and the strength does not vary (2/5).
In the last third, the flavors become less, given that there are only walnut (always well marked) and earth present. Strength becomes medium (3/5).
In conclusion, this H. Upmann Coronas Major is a cigar that returns a good smoke, very interesting until halfway through, when it becomes pungent on the palate and the aromas tend to fade. However, it remains a suitable product if you want a quick and undemanding smoke.
