A partnership that is bringing you something fifty. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has 50 years in the cigar industry, Skip Martin of Roma Craft is soon turning 50. The two met a few years ago in Germany at the Intertabac Trade Show. Now, Ernesto will be able to mentor Skip with using Dominican tobacco in a cigar. Something that Martin has not done with his Nicaraguan cigar brand.
The collaboration cigar is called the Quinquagenario. The long word is what someone can be called when they are in their fifties. Appropriate for the collaborators in their ways. The cigar will be a 50 ring gauge by 127mm (5″) Robusto. Cigars will be packed in 24-count boxes. Total production is said to be 50,000 cigars. Cigars are in the very beginning stage, with just a 2022 release date. Something says these will be released around Skip’s 50th birthday in July, but no official word from either party.
