Dressed in a very oily Maduro wrapper, that results slightly rough to the touch. Construction is excellent.
Sobremesa El Americano: the cold draw reveals notes of earth and spices. Rich notes of black pepper, with vegetal hints, reach the palate in the opening.
The first third is very creamy. Cocoa and white pepper are followed by spices and spicy hints. Strength is medium (3/5).
Cocoa, earth and spices alternate in the second third. Fine herbs in the retro-hale. Smoke stays very creamy, with deep aromas, and is almost chewable. Strength stays constant.
The final third turns to balsamic herbs of great finesse, followed by rich earthy notes. Strength increases slightly (3,5/5), which is enough to close out this smoke in satisfying fashion.
Overall, the Sobremesa El Americano reveals a masterfully balanced smoke. Very creamy, it is equipped with an ample and harmonious aromatic palette. Said palette is nothing short of unique and easily recognizable. An excellent cigar, that is why its TOP 2 placement, in CigarLover Magazine’s Awards of 2016, doesn’t come as a surprise.
