The Tabacalera Palma Cigar factory is reaching a milestone of 85 years in business. The special cigars produced are called the La Galera 85th Anniversary. You are not reading a typo with cigars instead of cigar. There are two very different cigars inside the special 85th-anniversary box. Not just a different wrapper, but two different blends, blended by a father and son. The only thing the same about both cigars will be the size as a 52 by 152mm (6″) Toro.
Father José “Jochy” Blanco took the honors of blending the Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper version, while his son José Manuel blended the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped version. All the tobacco used was from Blanco’s Jacagua and Gurabo farms in the Dominican Republic. The La Galera 85th Anniversary cigars will come in a 20-count box, including 10 of each version. The special anniversary box lid will also have a built-in ashtray.
The La Galera 85th Anniversary cigars will have an MSRP of $14.50 a cigar and will start shipping in September 2021.
