Aesthetically, it is dressed in a Colorado Maduro wrapper. Smooth to the touch. Construction is great and filling is generous and uniform.
La Aurora Family Reserve Robusto: notes of hay in the cold draw. The opening brings hazelnut to the palate.
The first third alternates wood, earth and spices (white pepper). Smoke is very creamy and the strength is medium (3/5).
Still very creamy in the second third, almost buttery. It now reveals notes of herbs, that alternate with wood. Strength increases slightly, enough to surpass the medium level (3,5/5). The finish is satisfying.
The final third sees the herbs move to the forefront. Earth, always present, moves to the background. Strength increases further, becoming medium-full (4/5).
Overall, a cigar that doesn’t reveal a particularly ample, but intense, aromatic palette. Great balance, but the main characteristic of this cigar is its creamyness. Persistency is discrete.
