The H. Upmann Propios Edicion Limitada 2018 was supposed to be the limited edition for, as the title says, 2018. But it is not surprising, as it has been the custom with many Cuban releases for years now, that it didn’t release until later. While the other two releases (Romeo y Julieta Tacos and Bolivar Soberanos) did come out in 2018, the Propios arrived to the market on September 2019.
The size, called a Mareva Gruesa, already exists in the Cuban portfolio, as the Vegueros Tapados share the same measurments.
The cigar is rolled in a Colorado Maduro wrapper, that is oily and smooth to the touch. Filling is more than generous, as some samples have almost no give to it when squeezed. The fear of having a tight draw, disappear once the cigar is cut and a perfect draw is showcased.

H. Upmann Propios Edicion Limitada 2018: the cold draw reveals notes of natural tobacco and spices. Once lit, the cigar start out with toasted notes of coffee.
Overall, the H. Upmann Propios Edicion Limitada 2018 is a decent cigar. It is a balanced smoke with a good profile. Nevertheless, being that the second third lacks any significant evolution, or change of flavors for that matter, it falls short of being an even better cigar. It lacks that special something you would expect of a limited edition.
