Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust will introduce The Overseas No. 1 at the upcoming Intertabac event. This is the first blend in what is supposed to become a series of special, limited-production cigars exclusively crafted for the international market.
In a press release, Steve Saka expresses his passion for creating unique blends and his excitement for venturing into the international market. However, due to the complexities of the global market, most limited-production cigars from the company have not been accessible to loyal DTT customers outside of the US.
The Overseas No. 1 was created specifically for foreign customers to address this. The brand aims to streamline compliance requirements for international distributors while allowing Saka to share his favorite blends with non-US connoisseurs. The intention is to offer these unique cigars exclusively outside of the US market.
The Overseas No. 1 features a blend of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Seedleaf fillers under a San Andrés Negro binder and dressed in an Ecuador Habano wrapper. This 50 x 152 mm (6″) Toro cigar is packaged in 10-ct boxes and is produced at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
The Overseas No. 1 will debut at InterTabac 2024 in Dortmund, Germany, from Sept. 19-21, where pre-orders will be taken for international markets through Joya de Nicaragua’s International distribution. Product shipments are expected to start in early 2025.
