Davidoff Robusto Real Especiales 7: unlit the cigar brings wood, honey and also cocoa and spices to the palate. Once lit, it starts definitely sweet. The flavor profile offered in the first half is broad: dried fruit, with notes of seasoned wood and hazelnut, against a background of citrus and cellulose. Strength is medium-light (2/5).
In the central section, the sweetness is enriched by a less intense sapidity. The flavors evolve towards antique wood, almond and honey, with a nuance of cocoa in the background. Strength remains unchanged (2/5).
In the last third, the saltiness takes over, replacing the sweet character. Once again it is seasoned wood that is the main aroma, while walnut and earth follow. The note of cocoa is somewhat muted. Strength increases to a medium level (3/5).
Overall, the Davidoff Robusto Real Especiales 7 turns out to be a classy cigar: elegant, refined and not easy to read. Its flavors are well blended together. The relationship between strength and aromas is excellent, which benefits the latter, leaving even the slightest nuances perceptible. The evolution is very appreciable, despite the note of antique wood that dominates the entire smoke. Another peculiarity that emerged during the tasting was the creaminess and density of the smoke, that characterized the entire first half of the smoke.
