The Casa Fernandez brand is made at the homonymous factory in Miami (USA). Under the Aniversario line, Limited Editions are released, like this Perfecto 2019, a Doble Figurado. This edition was entrusted to a single torcedora. For the wrapper, a leaf grown at the Aganorsa plantation, in Nicaragua, is used.
The cigar comes in a thin parchment sheet, on which the brand logo is repeatedly imprinted. Stripped of the sheet, a slightly opaque wrapper of a Colorado shade appears. It is smooth to the touch, with very light veins. The construction is excellent and the weight of the cigar suggests generous filling. In addition to being a Doble Perfecto, it is also a box press. The draw appears tight.

Casa Fernandez Miami Aniversario Perfect 2019: the nose catches aromas of earth, leather and hazelnut.
The opening is slow (characteristic of the size) and at the same time difficult due to the tight draw. After several minutes of flat smoke, the cigar finally starts with a good dose of sapidity combined with a light sweetness. Wood and nuts appear, with a hint of leather. Strength is medium (3/5).
In the central part, sweetness gives way to the sapidity. The cigar, while retaining the woodiness of the first third, evolves towards decisive aromas of walnut and less pronounced nuances of black pepper and spices. There is also a pleasent astringency present. Strength increases slightly (4/5).
Into the last third, the unchanged sapidity and astringency makes the smoke become a little rough, so much so as to require a sip of water. A robust nutty note is followed by coffee, wood and black pepper. Strength remains unchanged (4/5).
Overall, the Casa Fernandez Miami Aniversario Perfecto 2019 is a satisfying cigar, with a good evolution and a good balance between strength and flavor. It unravels in the last third, due to the astringency being to overpowering. Unfortunately the difficult draw and irregular burn will slightly affect the rating.
