Two years after the success of the American Barrel Aged line, Camacho presents the new Nicaraguan Barrel Aged, which includes Corojo tobacco from Nicaragua that have aged for 5 months in Rum barrels.

Dylan Austin, VP Marketing of Davidoff USA, declares: “To achieve our objective, our specialist have worked together with a team from Flor de Caña, in Nicaragua, to select the barrels with the optimal humidity, some of them have conserved rum for 25 years. The result is a strong new blend, that invites the aficionados from around the world to dive in to the barrel of the true Nicaraguan spirit.”

The blend is made of a Ecuador Habano wrapper, a Mexican binder and the filler is a mix of Dominican Piloto Cubano, Honduran Corojo Ligero and Esteli Corojo aged in rum barrels. They are manufactured using the Powerband technique, a combination of two bunching processes: an accordion style folding technique, used in the the Dominican Republic, and the Cuban entubado technique, where the tobaccos are rolled in to cylindrical tubes.

Production will take place at the new Davidoff factory, Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A., in Danli (for more information click here), and the available sizes will be:

  • Robusto, 50 x 127 mm (also available in tubos)
  • Toro, 50 x 152 mm
  • Gordo, 60 x 152 mm

Launching on June 22nd on the American market, with a global launch planned for the coming year. Prices will vary from $10 and $12, depending on the size.
