Caldwell Cigars announced the release of the Caldwell 10th Anniversary.
“Caldwell 10th Anniversary is a cigar that showcases our journey over the last 10 years,” says Robert Caldwell in a press release. “When I sat down to work on this cigar, my first inclination was to make a classic Caldwell smoke — something that was mild to medium and packed with flavor… most likely with a lighter wrapper. In thinking through the project, I decided instead to make a cigar that showcases our growth and my experience blending over the past 10 years.”
“We started as a brand making one style of cigar and have grown into a diverse portfolio with a broad profile of flavor expressions,” Robert explains. “In building this cigar, I wanted to use a very well-aged wrapper that was more full in body but still smooth on the palate. I also incorporated a Colombian Cubita filler as a nod to my friends with whom I started the business with, who are both Colombian.”
“At last, I ended with a very unique blend. We built the cigar using a 3.5-year-old San Andrés Rosado wrapper over a bunch of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Colombian fillers bound together with a Dominican binder. We produced a very small amount of 52 x 146 mm (5 3/4″) Toros, each packed into its own coffin and packed in a 10-count box. This blend is all of our greatest hits wrapped up into one really special stick.,” Robert concludes.
The production is handled by Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic. It is limited to only 200 boxes at a retail price of $50 per cigar. Robert Caldwell also told CigarsLover Magazine that there will also be a Europe-only release in a Robusto size with dressed-down packaging.
