Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark: the cold draw reveals hints of hay and leather. The first few puffs bring both sweet and salty notes to the palate.
The first third is a play between hazelnut, cocoa, citrus peel and spices notes; some puff deliver sweet creaminess, others are sligthly salty, giving off a very nice aromatic palette. The strength is just over the medium range (3,5/5).
In the second third the citrus notes move to the back. Leather and black pepper appear, matching perfectly with the other aromas. The intensity increases further and same goes for the strength, now medium to full (4/5).
In the final third notes of toasted bread are added. The base is creamy and the spices become piquant. The strength grows to a full level (5/5).
Overall the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Eye of the Shark is a cigar able to reach the high expectations a release of this genre brings with it. Construction is impeccable, the ash is firm and the burn line is razor sharp. Intense, complex and very satysfing.
