Il Brigante resembles, with its size, a Caribbean purito. This small sized cigar has a short filler filling, cut by hand. While they are manufactured in Peru, the Kentucky tobaccos used, as usual for the Amazon brand, are cultivated in Italy in the regions of San Sepolcro and Pontecorvo.

Visually, the wrapper is of a dark and shiny marron color. Veining is evident to the touch, as well as its rusticity and some small imperfections, which we’ll overlook, considering that the product is made by hand with a tobacco that has a very pronounced texture.
Amazon Il Brigante: the cold draw exudes intense notes of earth and bark.
The beginning of this Brigante is immediately medium-sapid, with a hint of bitterness, which isn’t displeasing. Flavors are few in numbers, but result well defined, with a major black pepper note, a less intense note of bark and a hint of leather. Strength is, despite the appearance, medium full (4/5).
Continuing, the bitterness is now equal to the saltiness and even though it is not possible to pick up a real evolution, the aromas are enriched by notes of mineral and walnut. Strength stays stable on the medium full (4/5).
Overall, a good product that you’d appreciated for a quick after meal smoke, if you are looking for a quick smoke without renouncing aromas and strength. However, the size deserves the right attention, since the risk of the cigar going out due to the distraction of the smoker is always around the corner. Furthermore, after several product tests, we suggest to pay close attention to the humidity: if you choose to smoke Il Brigante when he’s a little dry, a peak of moisture can, in the case of this particular cigar, result in a difficult combustion or a tighter draw.
