The popular CAO Amazon Basin from General Cigar Co., is returning for 2025. This limited-edition cigar features a unique five-country blend, with Amazonian Bragança tobacco as the standout filler.
Bragança is grown in the Brazilian Amazon, with seedlings planted a yard apart, leading to lower yields. After harvesting, the leaves are rolled by hand into dense logs called “carottes”, which undergo a six-month fermentation before being transported via canoe down the Amazon River to the STG Estelí factory in Nicaragua.
This year’s cigar comes in a single size: a 52 x 152 mm (6”) Toro. The blend includes an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and filler from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, along with the Brazilian Bragança. It has a suggested retail price of $14.49, a 20-cent increase from 2024.
CAO Amazon Basin is packaged in rustic 18-count boxes, a signature style of the brand since 2014.
