My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años Limited Edition Corona Especial 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años Limited Edition was released to commemorate the 100 years of José García Alayón, the father of José “Pepín” García. It was released in 2022.

The My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años blend is a modified version of the original Le Bijou. It remains a Nicaraguan puro with a dark brown Habano wrapper leaf. All the tobaccos used come from the Garcia family’s farms.

The line features two sizes, both with a pigtail cap, this Corona Especial and a Corona Extra.

My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años LE Corona Especial

My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años Limited Edition Corona Especial: The cold draw reveals aromas of clean tobacco and leather. Once lit, it opens with vegetal notes and spices.

My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años LE Corona Especial

The vegetal note is joined by leather and earth. There is an evident black pepper note present but only in the retro hale. The smoke is creamy and the strength is surprisingly contained (2/5).

Aromas of hazelnut, espresso, and wood are added, to the flavor profile, in the second third. The vegetal note has moved to the back and the strength is now a solid medium (3/5).

A blast of black pepper moves to the front, in the last third, taking over the rains of the flavor profile. The finale becomes spicier and the strength jumps to full (5/5).

Overall, the My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años Limited Edition Corona Especial is a rich, bold, yet complex smoke from the first to the last puff. The evolution is noteworthy and the jump in strength in the last third is surprising, but the intensity of the flavors manages to keep up, making for a balanced finish. It is no surprise that the cigar was included in our Awards in 2022.
