The Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Gran Robusto is one of the latest products released following the rebranding of the previous Casa Fernandez brand. “Validacion” is the Spanish term for “approval,” which would be the one conferred, after the smoke tests, by Paul Palmer, president of Aganorsa Leaf.
The blend consists of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binders and a mix of Corojo and Criollo 98 tobaccos from Nicaragua for the filler. The Habano line offers three sizes, all packaged in boxes of 15 pieces.
The cigar is dressed in a shiny Colorado wrapper with golden reflections. To the touch, it is smooth, with no prominent veins. Construction and filling are perfect.

Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Habano Gran Robusto: the aromas are faint in the cold draw, but notes of wood, pepper, and honey are perceived.
The opening brings a rather sapid smoke to the palate, enriched by a sweet component. There is also a spicy sensation present which lasts throughout the first third. It is very spicy, with notes of pepper that stand out above all, with a less intense woody nuance. Strength is medium (3/5).
In the central section, the cigar is uniquely sapid, while the profile reveals black pepper, camphor, and wood notes with a hint of cocoa. Strength increases, becoming medium-full (4/5).
In the last third, the cigar remains sapid, while the profile is expressed with very intense wood notes, followed by black pepper and camphor. Strength increases slightly (4.5/5).
In conclusion, this Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Habano Gran Robusto offers an interesting smoke, although the evolution is not particularly pronounced. The strength which grows throughout the smoke is always balanced with the intensity of the aromas. Satisfying and, at the same time, intriguing.
