Caldwell Last Tzar Toro: the cold draw reveals scents of barnyard. The opening delivers sweet tobacco notes, together with a bit of nuttiness. Creamy.

caldwell The Last Tzar Toro 3

The first third is about vegetal notes, a mix of spices with ginger and chili peppers, all on a sweet and honeyed base. Strength is medium (3/5). The aromas are well amalgamated, and the flavors are deep. The smoke continues to be creamy.

In the middle section, the chili spices grow fuller, and rich walnut notes are now added to the flavor profile, joined by leather and roasted coffee beans. The finish is excellent, and the strength increases slightly (3.5/5).

In the last third, the chili spices are still vibrant. The roasted coffee bean notes are still present, as well as the leather, joined now by earth and an intense nuttiness. The smoke is still creamy, and some hints of cappuccino are also present. Strength doesn’t change (3.5/5). The finale is a blast of chili spices.

Overall, the Caldwell Last Tzar Toro is a balanced and creamy cigar with a flavor profile delivering an array of spices. Aside from that, the profile is deep and structured, with nice complexity and evolution—a fantastic smoke.
