The H. Upmann Upmann No. 2 is the last surviving example of what was known as the “number series”. As for the Montecristo numerical series, H. Upmann identified the exact sizes with the same numbers. However, with the rationalization of the brand portfolio, the Upmann No. 3 and No. 5 were discontinued as early as the 1980s, ending in 2002 with the cancellation of the Upmann No. 1 and No. 4. The Upmann No. 2 is a Pyramid that, since its inception, has been sold in 25-count boxes.

Upmann No. 2

H. Upmann Upmann No. 2: unlit, aromas of wood and spices are perceived, enriched by slightly earthy tones.

Upmann No. 2

Once lit, the Upmann No. 2 reveals a slightly sweet smoke on the palate. It expresses a powerful note of aged wood, followed by metallic and walnut hints enriched with spicy nuances. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the central section, a sapid note appears, which enriches the palatal perception with the sweet one. The flavor profile reveals notes of nuts, aged wood with earth nuances. Strength increases slightly to medium (3/5).

In the final third, the sapidity increases while the sweetness disappears. Flavor-wise, the last third is a long continuation of the central part, and the strength remains unchanged (3/5).

In conclusion, the H. Upmann Upmann No. 2 returns an intense and balanced smoke. It suffers a bit in evolution, and the flavor profile is not exaggeratedly broad. However, elegance and an excellent product consistency are elements that continue to play in favor of this Pyramid
