The Diamond Crown Maximus Toro is a cigar that belongs to one of the most prestigious lines produced by J.C. Newman. Seven sizes are part of the line, and the Toro is the third smallest size, underlining how the “Maximus” has particularly large sizes in the lineup. They are sold in 20-ct boxes. Production takes place in the Dominican Republic, in the Fuente factory. The peculiarity of this line is the use of a wrapper leaf from the El Bajo region in Ecuador, exclusively grown by the Oliva growing operation for J.C. Newman.
Aesthetically, the Diamond Crown Maximus Toro is rolled in a dark Maduro-colored wrapper leaf that is rough to the touch. The construction of some of the tested samples shows a not completely symmetrical cigar.

Diamond Crown Maximus Toro: unlit, intense notes of dark chocolate. The opening brings a mix of spicy notes to the palate.
Overall, the Diamond Crown Maximus Toro gives off an intense but rather rustic smoke. The flavor profile is balanced but not particularly evolutionary. This penalizes the smoke, especially due to the not particularly limited flavors. That said, the cigar is balanced from start to finish, with a strength that is always well under control.
