Since 2012, Paul John has been the premium brand of John Distilleries’ single malts from the Indian island of Goa. After the 2018 limited edition, this regular bottling reached a smashing shape thanks to a two-year finish in rich sherry Oloroso casks: seven years of total aging, 46% ABV, and a marvelous natural and unfiltered mahogany hue.
In the glass it releases red fruit, cloves, and dark chocolate. On the palate it is peppery, with orange chocolate and dates. Nutmeg, cloves and citrus in the finish.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE?
Among the whiskies tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those who scored the best were selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared, and the TOP 10 is made.
