The Montecarlo is one of the very few Panetela present in the Cuban portfolio. Since 2001/02 it has been produced by hand, although its machine made origins place it much further back in time. It is sold in the classic 25-count dress boxws.
The cigar is dressed in a bright Colorado Claro wrapper, with brown reflections. It is quite smooth to the touch and the veins are rather small. Sometimes the filling may present gaps, but on such a thin size it is not unusual. The draw and workmanship are excellent.

Por Larrañaga Montecarlo: the cold draw reveals delicate hints of wood, nuts and white pepper.
Ultimately, despite the fact that the Por Larrañaga Montecarlo is not among the most noble and sought after Cubans, it returns a classy and satisfying smoke. The profile is highly respectable and the moderate strength is in favor of the aromas. However, it is necessary to smoke it carefully, if it burns to fast the profile can turn bitter. Perfect for an aperitif or a relaxed morning smoke.
