The Brick House brand boasts origins dating back over centuries. It was founded in 1937 and after a few decades of activity its production was definitively stopped. In 2007 the brand was brought back to life by J.C. Newman and are now produced at the PENSA factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
The cigar is rolled in the most classic of Connecticut wrapper: a bright, Claro shaded leaf. It is quite smooth to the touch, with some small veins present. Filling and the draw are good, as is the construction.

Brick House Double Connecticut Toro: rich cocoa aromas along with less accentuated nuances of hazelnut, spices and earth on the nose.
In the opening is played on a balance between sweet and acid, very moderate. The flavors are expressed with notes of citrus and Brazilian walnut, enriched with light woody hints. Strength is medium – light (2/5).
The cigar evolves in the second third towards well-structured notes of coffee and peanuts, together with the already present nuances of wood. Strength does not change (2/5).
In the last third, the acid taste gives way to a sapid characteristic, which however remains in balance with the sweetness that has never faded. The flavors are better structured, with notes of coffee, wood and walnut, followed by floral nuance in the background. Strength increases slightly, becoming medium (3/5).
Ultimately, the Brick House Double Connecticut is very interesting. The contained strength makes a maximum flavor perception possible, which, for its part, is appreciable both for the flavors itself and for the evolution. Probably the use of the Connecticut Shade wrapper and Broadleaf binder manages to balance itself well with the Nicaraguan filler. A less subdued opening would give the cigar a plus, but it is still enjoyable.
