Reservoir is a small craft distillery established in 2008 in Richmond, Virginia. From the get-go, they specialized in a core range of 100% single-cereal mash bills from locally grown organic rye, corn, and wheat. It’s aged for two years in small charred American white oak casks of only 5 gallons, less than a tenth of the customary 53-gallon barrels.
In the glass, it develops red fruit, caramel, vanilla, menthol and crème brûlée. Notes of oak are added to the palate. The finish is medium-long, slightly dry, with cocoa, leather, wood and a touch of spices.

HOW ARE THE AWARDS MADE
Among the whiskies tested during the year in blind tastings and reviews, those that scored the best got selected. These products were then tested once again in a new blind tasting, which means not knowing what they are during the tasting. The only indication on the sample concerns the ABV content: a red mark states that the product has an ABV higher than 50% (100° proof). The test results are then compared and the TOP 10 is made.
