The new Inca brand is already being distributed to retailers. It is manufactured and marketed by A.C.T. Distribuzione Sigari, a company that owns Amazon cigars.
As the name suggests, the new cigars are produced in Tarapoto, Peru. They are constructed like other Caribbean hand-made long filler cigar, with a wrapper, binder and filler tobaccos. The tobaccos used for this brand are Cuban seed grown in Peru.
A very interesting aspect is related to the agronomic supply chain. The stages of growth, cultivation and processing of tobacco products are followed by the A.C.T. company themselfs. Tobacco is not bought from an external grower. This circumstance makes this product a true Peruvian Puro, with the company itself responsible for all the phases of the cigar production, from the choice of the seed to the distribution of the product.
Going into more detail, Ferdinando Buonocore confirmed that the tobaccos are fermented for more than 12 months, aged for a period varying from 12 to 24 months and the cigars rest for an additional 6 months once they are rolled.
