Next year will mark Joya de Nicaragua’s 50th birthday and to celebrate they redesigned the packaging for their most articulated and widespread line in the world: Joya de Nicaragua Clásico.
Juan L. Martinez (executive president of JDN) says: “We wanted to bring back the beautiful artistic look of the original Joya de Nicaragua box, so we commissioned an expert digital artist to recreate the brand’s original painting, showcasing the beautiful landscape of northern Nicaragua.”
The picture showcases different boxes from 1968 – 2009 – and the new packaging for 2018.
Martinez continues: “To achieve that goal, the company has placed a painting of a tobacco field in the valley of Estelí on the inside of the lid, as a nod to where the company’s history began. The image features the human, artisan and artful side of the brand, Martinez noted, as tobacco growers are featured prominently in the image. The background includes curing barns as well as malinche trees with their vibrant red flowers, which Martinez described as “an iconic ornament present at our factory.”
The Joya de Nicaragua Clásico line is available in the following sizes:
