The cigar is very well crafted, with a Cuban-style triple cap, a silky and oily colorado maduro capa, and a generous filling. A special note for the elegant anilla.
Viaje Robusto Exclusivo: before lighting the cigar up, it delivers major manure notes, while a slightly sweet hint can be perceived. The opening gives off aromatic herbs. Draw is correct, and the smoke is remarkable in quantity and quite pleasant.
In the first third the aromatic herbs continue, with some mineral notes, which are in any case disappearing quite quickly. Strength is immediately higher than average (3.5/5). Moving on in the tercio a major coffee taste, with a spicy background, becomes the center of the aromatice palette.
In the second third coffee continues its pleasant and constant evolution, this time paired with balsamic notes, taking the role of the spicy ones of the beginning of the fruition. Strength increases, reaching a medium-high level (4/5).
In the last third the light grey, very solid ash falls down; this event coincides with a sudden increase in the body, which becomes stronger (4.5/5), and in some puffs major attention has to be payed in order to avoid the slightly bitter notes, which are appearing, not to jeopardizing the overall harmony. With this strategy the cigar comes back to be enjoyable up to the end of the fruition. The final is still characterized by coffee and spices joined by earthy notes.
Overall a particular and enjoyable cigar, pleasant in its marked strength, and characterized by a varied and intense aromatic palette. The aftertaste persistency is high, with echoes of the same coffee which has been the heart of the fruition. The only negative point is a lack of balance at the beginning of the last third, where the strength suddenly increases, giving off some slightly bitter notes.
